This is my story. I have always suffered with low back pain. As a teen, I wore a back brace for scoliosis. After that, I still had pain, and tried chiropractors and doctors for my pain, Eventually, about 12 years ago, I started with a pain management doctor. While the Lortabs and Percocets and morphine helped take away the pain, I didn't see an end in sight. I didn't want to take pills all my ilife. After my son died in 2018, I fell into a deep, deep depression. I didn't get out of bed most days, other than to take my other children to and from school. My girls were the only things that kept me going, Things were very bad.
Then came covid. I was unable to get pain injections anymore. Medication was getting hard to find at the pharmacies. I felt I was out of options. Then I got a medical marijuana card. I tried some tinctures and gummies and balm, and found some relief.
But I didn't know what I was doing, and the budtenders tried to help, but most of their customers were looking to get high, I didn't want to get high. I just wanted my pain to go away. There was a lot of trial and error. Eventually, after many months, I was finding the right dose to get relief without getting high. I could finally see an option instead of taking pain pills.
Then came the real work. Cutting back on morphine and using cannabis in its place. It was hard, but I really wanted to get off the pills. I have been cutting back on the pills and adding in CBD and THC. I have learned a lot about how, when, and how much cannabis to take. I have learned to listen to my body for what it needs.
I wanted to help others, so I went to school to be a Certified Cannabis and Health Coach. I have learned so much and I want to share that knowledge and help others to find relief like I have.
